Who we are
Col's Family Cafe ("we", "us", "our") operates from Hearts Football Club, c/o 7th Avenue & Bognor Road, Summerstrand. This notice explains how we handle personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) when you use this website or make a booking with us.
What we collect
When you book a table or enquire about an event through this site, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, preferred date and time, guest numbers, and any notes you add. We don't ask for or store payment details, ID numbers or any other sensitive information through this site.
Why we collect it
- To process and manage your table or event booking
- To contact you about your booking — to confirm it, change it, or answer a question you've raised
- To keep a record of bookings for our own planning and operations
Where it's stored
Booking information is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase. Our specific database instance runs on servers in Ireland (EU), which means your information is processed outside South Africa by our service provider acting on our behalf. Access to booking records is restricted to authorised Col's Family Cafe staff, protected by a password-based login.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as reasonably needed for our operational and record-keeping purposes. If you'd like us to delete your booking history, contact us using the details below and we'll action it.
Cookies and local storage
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store a small amount of technical information locally (for example, to prevent duplicate form submissions) — this stays on your device and isn't shared with us or anyone else.
Your rights
Under POPIA, you can ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, subject to any legal or operational reason we may need to keep it (such as an active or recent booking). To make a request, email us at hello@colsfamilycafe.co.za.
